Are you blogging for money?

It all started in 2005 when I started my first blog. I did it mainly to amuse myself. After about 4 months of blogging, I came to know about increasing income through selling space for ads.

That was how I first came to know about blog advertising and it caught on like wild fire. Today, to my knowledge, there are about 15 Internet marketing companies that offer a market place for advertisers and bloggers to exchange services.

Advertisers engage the services of bloggers who blog for pay or receive samples of products that advertisers offer.

Bloggers Review has opened up one such market place where bloggers submit their blogs. Advertisers select blogs that they think suit their products or services and hire the bloggers to write about them in their blog.

Bloggers Review’s user interface is uncluttered and the layout is simple. The website load really fast and I did not find any confusion in navigating the website.

My first blog post was approved in less than 24 hours. Payment is made through Paypal.

Don't look at my eyes please!

We are all used to look at the eyes of the person we are talking to-right? It is generally looked upon as indecent to look elsewhere while we are speaking to anyone.

But, in Japan, it was the other way. It was considered rude to look at the eyes of the superior while talking to him/her.

Yes, it was and not these days. That was the practice in vogue during the 1800s. It is a bit odd custom really and there is no record of any punishment for that. At least it was not so to my knowledge.

Let me try to recall where I read this bit of information. Ah yes, it was in the Yahoo news a week or so before.

8 fictional cities-can you live there?

Fictional characters are one thing that either children or try to emulate but what about fictional cities that are created for film making alone? Are they fit to live by you and I?

Do you by any chance remember one fictional city that you have seen or heard of?

No, I have not seen the film Water World but I read about the floating village and it kind of eerie even to read that once there, you are stuck for your life. I can't stand water everywhere.

Belief or vanity?

Let me guess; the fancy for fancy numbers-when did it all start?

Probably when mankind’s belief in numerology became strong? I could be so especially after an accident or any other untoward happening that might have caused damage to the car and its driver.

I could imagine another reason too. You bought a shining new car that is just launched and you are one of the first 100 owners of this car. In your passion to show off, you probably would have thought that by getting a private number plate will add to the appeal of the vehicle.

Now, we all see several cars on the road with customized number plates selected by the owner of the vehicle. I believe there must a special service that caters to demands for private number plates.

Some people say that private number plates are easy to remember than allotted numbers by the vehicle registration authorities. But why should you need to remember? Only others need to remember your car and its license plates!

Trivia:
Do you know that the highest price ever paid for a fancy and private number plate? It is a whopping £285,000.

Hmmm… some vanity-eh?

NASA swarmed.

If you are a resident of Houston, Texas, then you know who has swarmed NASA's Johnson Space Center.

Americans who are living elsewhere in the U.S. are really safe and can heave a sigh of relief because they are not affected by those crazy Rasberry Ants that have arrived in billions in Houston and creative terror among the residents.

They malfunction fire alarm, computers and various other electrical outlets and also sewage pumps.

Obviously these ants are really smart because they refuse to be baited. " And when you do kill these ants, the survivors turn it to their advantage: They pile up the dead, sometimes using them as a bridge to cross safely over surfaces treated with pesticide."

Are social networking sites vulnerable?

I am scared and genuinely concerned after reading a top story on Yahoo titled, "How hackers find you".

The story's summary is that hackers find you mainly through the information we give at social networking sites like MySpace, FaceBook etc. etc.

While very professional networking people whose real interest in the social networking sites is to network, amateurs like me, linger there only to satisfy the vanity that I too am a member of all the popular social networks.

Sometimes, I oblige a friend who invites me to join a new website like Twitter.

The Yahoo story leads to a video that I could not understand. Please post here what you can deduce from it. Please mind that I am a heavy user of social networking sites to attract blog traffic.

So, hackers too wait patiently at My Space(smile) to attack my system.
