But ugly goes all the way.

KFC's Original Recipe fried chicken and French...Image via Wikipedia

In my experience, eating chocolates and other snacks that are cooked by deep frying in oil won’t cause oily skin. There is another concept that is popular is that fatty foods are the main cause of acne.

No, again. Acne is caused by pores blockage and oily food won’t cause oil production on your skin.

Even if you take some wrong medicines to cure common cold or fever, you can always get it done rightly by taking the right medicines but you should wield utmost caution while using skin care products because, the damage caused on the skin can’t be rectified in a short span of time.

Skin damage can force you indoors; you won’t be able to even wear normal clothes. Consult your dermatologist before you apply any external skin lotion or gel.

You can read reviews of various skin care products by those who have used them before buying. I have read reviews of hundreds of skin care products in Allegro Medical, the most respected online retailer for skin care products as well as hundreds of life enhancing products.

Beauty is only skin deep...but ugly goes all the way to the bone!

Twisted but fully transparent building.

The technological advances made by China should make Japan gasp, America awe and India jealous.
The Chinese are making the world to sit and watch them progress with silent admiration.

In November 2008, the ground was broken in Shanghai to construct a 128 story tower that's design appears twisted. It is going to be the fully transparent building in the world to withstand the vagaries of summer and winter. This concept is to help insulate it and thereby reduce the amount of energy needed to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

The building will be fully powered by wind turbines.
The building will recycle the water it collects from the rain.
There are totally 9 building that will be stacked on top of one other.
Each building will house office complex, residences, a hotel and space for entertainment.

This building will be ready in 2014.

Water as power for mobile phones.

Man's quest to find the cheapest and abundant supply of alternate power might come to an end soon.

Which is the cheapest and abundant material on the earth?
Of air, water, sun light, water is of course abundant and available just about everywhere on the earth barring deserts and few other places that includes my good (?) old Madras. Smile 4

Can we use water as a power in mobile phones and many other electronic gadgets? Samsung has invented a cell that is fueled by water. I believe, in this concept, hydrogen is the actual fuel which is generated from the water.

Samsung expects to power their mobile phones with this water powered battery that can sustain the phone for up to 10 hours, the time taken to fly to London from Madras.

China resorts to attack.

China is trying out the last of its resources; it has started attacking the heavens in the midst of draught, hoping to end the dry season.

In this age of technology, who has the patience to wait for the nature to open up the heavens and start drenching the parched lands. China is attacking the sky with the expectation of cloud formation and rain.

Cloud seeding is the artificial formation of cloud and making then rain the water droplets. This has been attempted in various countries but met with little success.

Man, you are playing with the Mother Nature! You can't expect to outwit her!

Eat Kit-Kat chocolate to pass in exams.

Kit-Kat from JapanImage by neko-momo via Flickr

Kit-Kat-the crispy chocolate is associated with better performance in exams. This applies only to the Japanese students.

Is it something to do with the ingredient in the Kit-Kat?

No, certainly not! It has something to do with the way the chocolate's name is pronounced in Japan. There is a Japanese word "Kitto-Katsu" that translates into "win without fail". Well, Kit-Kat is pronounced as "Kitto-katto' in Japan and that is close to their 'Kitto-katsu'.

So, this is only a belief in Japan and the 'Nestle', the manufacturer of Kit-Kat is capitalizing on this belief of Japanese by presenting their Kit-Kat chocolate bar in a special way.

Snopes.com has written an article on this amusing belief of Japanese and cites several offline news resources.

Fishes drop from the heaven.

A blog post by my friend Mrs. Aniyan Shanthy titled, "Raining Frogs and Fishes" aroused my interest immensely. Fishes and frogs come along with rain is a rare natural phenomenon that had occurred a few times in the past.

But how did they manage to go up in the first place is a question that will come to our mind immediately. Now, this gets interesting. The fishes and frogs are found alive on the ground. It seems nature has endowed them to withstand the impact of falling from the sky on the ground.

Now, to the mystery about how they were taken alive from the earth and dropped again alive on the earth along with with the rain-some tornadoes that are sometimes called 'waterspouts' life these creatures that also get carried away across the space due to wind.

I read about how these waterspouts are formed and what is the impact on environment in USA Today. It was quite eerie to me even to read and look at some of the pictures of waterspouts that formed over great water bodies.

The picture below shows Waterspouts off of Treasure Island, Fla.

Here is a more eerie video clip of a Tornado.

Drink ice water to burn calories.

Ice Water

Fat people who are serious in reducing their excess weight might be elated at this news of burning calories by just drinking ice water. But wait, don't get excited yet. You must know the difference between Calories and calories.

Note the uppercase 'C' and the lowercase 'c'. There is a major difference between them. While the first category relates to the actual burning of Calories (the energy generated by metabolism), the latter category of calories point out the energy required to raise the temperature.

But still, there are health advantages by drinking ice water. Since, I don't have to reduce weight, I didn't read further into the discovery.

May be someone else who needs burn Calories should read this question and answer.

(Cat)chy Pictures!

These kittens must be living in Siberia and definitely not in India. The summer has already started here. (BTW when it had disappeared?)

The clothes must be very warm from the look of it. Look very cute and sweet.

What a feast without having to hunt it out? The fish seemed to be soaking in brine solution and it definitely was not intended for this little thief. Not sharing with your spouse and offspring-eh?

These pictures arrived through email from my friend and he has given credit for pictures to Truly Odd Planet.
