Synthetic blood comes soon.

I Dugg the story promptly today morning when I was forwarded a link that explained about the discovery of synthetic blood.

Synthetic blood? Yes, it actually and literally replaces the natural blood that our body produces automatically whenever we lose blood. Have you ever wonder about this miracle of automatically blood production without any external help from any kind of medicines or machines?

Well, the British Scientists have again hit the headlines. "
Transfusion of “synthetic” blood made from the stem cells of spare IVF embryos will be done for the first time in human volunteers.

This is just fantastic. Our immediate question will be:
What about the blood group?
That is easily solved. The synthetic blood will belong to 'O' group that
can be transfused into anyone without fear of tissue rejection.

Send email eyes-free and hands-free!

Eyes free alright but don't just close your eyes yet as you are driving while dictating your email message.
Yes, of course it is a 'hands free' technology which again doesn't mean you can take your hands off your vehicle while on the road.

A device that is connected to your Blackberry can facilitate the following:
Speak out your email message while driving
Get alerts when you receive an email
Hear the email you received
Call anyone by their name in your phone address book and speak to them

The new gadget, developed by Intelligent Mechatronic Systems, can be mounted on a dashboard, sun visor or air vent, at an initial installation cost of £400 plus a monthly subscription, the Daily Telegraph reported.

More, much more...

Is the world running out of salt?

Would you believe if I tell you to eat less salt because it will soon disappear from the ocean? Obviously you would think I am crazy.

Well, I am not crazy but I gave you the news of eating less salt with a twist. Consuming less salt may be healthy but asking people to consume salt less than the desired quantity is unhealthy too. No one will eat food with more salt deliberately. They will spit out the food immediately-right?

But of course, what tastes normal to me may be too salty to you! Nature obviously doesn't believe in mediocrity!

So what is cooking?
There is a campaign launched by Dr. Frieden, the commissioner of New York City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene against packaged food manufacturers to use less salt in the food they pack. I agree with this move because packaged snacks are liberally sprinkled with sodium chloride.

What if there is a protest?
You might see this!

Warning! I can read your mind!

The news in Times of India: New scanners to make mind-reading a reality

Probably movie makers have unknowingly motivated scientists to discover something that can read mind. The last film that I remember where someone read what is going on the mind of the person he is talking to was Tamil film Sivajai. In it, the hero Rajnikant played pranks by reading aloud what the comedian Vadively is thinking.

Now the real science says it is really possible to read a person's mind simply by looking at brain activity using a modern scanner. A London based scientists asked for some volunteers to test his experiment.

The credit goes to Eleanor Maguire of the Wellcome Trust Center for Neuroimaging at University College London.

Well, as in the film, intruding the privacy of mind is not yet possible but this scanner can read only spatial memories.

The true story of a tattooed fish.

Ron Russell is amazing. He is my blogs' regular reader and every one of his comments is loaded with fresh information to me.

My blog post titled, "Fishes drop from the heaven" attracted Ron's eyes and he has made a comment that tells you the true story of fish that was tattooed and let into the Pacific Ocean near Guam.

Three years later, the same fish (obviously grown to be a large fish Cool 2) with its tattoo intact was caught from Lake Dixie Springs in Pike County, Mississippi. This is mysterious man. That fresh water lake is located about 100 miles from the Guam. How did it manage to relocate?

This true story was documented by MS Enterprise Journal-a local newspaper.

Blink and play-hitech laziness!

I foresee a very lazy world by the turn of this century. Every new invention, every technological advance is aimed at reducing our work, our physical movements.

For example, the telecommunication industry is hell bent to save us from using our healthy limbs-the gift from our creator.

Hands free mobile sets that portrayed everyone on the street as a mad man;
Blue tooth technology that makes us think the world is producing more and more deaf people.

Now this news; very hot news really.

You wink to start your washing machine
You stick out your tongue like a snake to operate your iPod.

The technology behind this is based on a set of infrared sensors that measure tiny movements inside the ear that result from different facial expressions.

The techno geeks (self styled of course) call this “Mimi Switch” or “Ear Switch” — is connected to a micro-computer that can control electronic devices, essentially making it a hands-free remote control for anything.

What else can you do?
Turn on your room lights and electric fans.
Turn on your washing machine.

Subscribe to “The Rare Coin Insider”.

I was tempted to buy this rare US Philippines 1908-S One Peso Coin silver coin from e-Bay but I curtailed my urge. I don’t want to change my loyalty to Monex, my dependable source for buying silver coins since 2005. I want to play safe.

But Americans have been buying silver and gold coins from them for the past 30 years and above. Over these 3 decades, Monex started offering various value added services as follows:

* Convenient and safe storage of silver coins and gold bars at an independent bank or depository

* The best U.S silver coin prices and programs in the silver coin industry

* Timely recommendations

* Precious metals market information

* Free trial subscription to “The Rare Coin Insider”

By the way, have you ever bought a silver or gold coin? I and a lot of investment experts believe it is the right time to buy.

Let the tail go; I have the head!

The butterfly in the image here will say when its tail gets cut off by predating birds and insects, "Ok, eat my tail, I still have my head".

Strange but true. This is nature's work at its defensive best.

This butterfly has something at its tail that looks like butterfly head, with eye spot, fake antennas. Another added camouflage is the converging stripes that direct the attention to the false head. What sort of an evolution is this? What it is pointing to?

Oh Mother Nature, what are you up to? Ah, only we ask the question; not the butterfly that will say thanks to the nature!
