The paint that produces electric energy.

The electric cooker, washing machine, the coffee maker and any other electrical devices in your home can be powered by the pain on your house’s outer walls.

This is a special paint that captures solar energy.

How it works?

The interaction of the sun with the paint and the underlying steel surface creates a current that can be captured and diverted.

And, this solar energy captured to power the household utilities and gadgets can also be used to empower 50 wind farms. Imagine the amount of power that can be produced.

Alternate energy sources continue to amaze us and the next generation is going to hugely benefited. And they are going to remain grateful for this generation.

You could be richer by $200,000 today.

I am serious. To be richer by $200K, you need not invest anything, you need not buy any lottery or you need not go to Las Vegas.

Just go to your attic or garage where you have dumped your grandparent’s belongings. Dig it in. See if you come up with a 1943 penny. It should be copper colored and it should also be made of real copper. If so, then you will be looking at a rare coin that is worth $200K.

How do you check whether it is made of copper? Oh man, it is very simple. Your 5 year old daughter will say, “Papa, just take a magnet near it. If the coin gets attracted, then it is a worthless piece of steel. Else…

Got it?

But do you know that there is less than 50 such 1943 penny coins are in circulation?

Now, if you happen to find your treasure, buy me a laptop-will you?

Thanks to Monaco Rare Coin to whom I am indebted. I learnt quite a lot about rare coins from them.

Rare coin experts such as Monaco Rare Coin can show you opportunities available in the rare coin marketplace today; opportunities that are often unknown or simply unavailable to less-established dealers.

The secret behind Vodaphone ad characters.

Millions of people who are watching the IPL cricket matches know these extraordinary characters that appear in Vodaphone advertisements.

Everybody laughs out loud along with these ad characters. The ads are made by a genius Indian named Prakash Varma, an ad film maker.

Contrary to the belief that these cute and lovable figures are animation work, they are human beings.

The real story behind making of this advertisement.
“The design of the characters is such that one gets fooled into thinking it is animation.

Prakash Varma, reveals that the Zoozoos were a big challenge to create. The practical aspects of how they will move, talk, gesticulate and emote were very important. Essentially, costume design and artwork were crucial elements.

“It took me three weeks of pre-production to understand how it will work,” says Varma.

The production team divided the outfit into two parts: the body and the head. The body part of the outfit was stuffed with foam in some places, while the head was attached separately. To make it look bigger than a human head, a harder material called Perspex was used, which in turn was stuffed with foam (with scope for ventilation).

If one wishes to understand the size of this head, here’s a fact: a human head would typically reach up to the mouth level of this giant Zoozoo head. “We kept the hands and legs thin, which is why we cast women – and occasionally children – wearing the costumes,” says Varma. The thin limbs, contrasted with big bellies and a bulbous head, all add to the illusion that these creatures are ‘smaller’ than humans. Sets were created to suit the size of the Zoozoos.

Cinematically, this ‘size’ was a trick: the creatures look smaller than they actually are on screen, to portray a different world of sorts. For this, the speed of shooting was altered: Nirvana shot it in a high-speed format to make them look the size that they do.

Furthermore, simple sets/backdrops were created and spray painted with neutral Greys – a colour of choice so that attention isn’t diverted from the main characters. For a supposedly ‘outdoor’ shot, even the shadow of a Zoozoo was kept ‘live’ and not done in post production: it was painted in a darker shade of grey on the ground. An even lighting was maintained throughout.

The films were shot by Nirvana in Cape Town, South Africa, with the help of a local production house there, called Platypus.

The content is based on an email I received.

No space in cyber space.

Net Surfers to be hit as cyberspace fills up

Though this is predicted to happen only next year, I think we have already started getting the impact. My personal experience with my PC indicates just that. Very frequently, I am seeing 'Page cannot be found' message. When I click on "Try again" twice, the page opens.

This is what they call 'Brown Outs' that will freeze their computers as capacity runs out in cyberspace, according to research.

The gloomy prediction is the usual supply demand gap. The reasons for the sudden prediction are
*
more people working online
* the soaring popularity of bandwidth-hungry websites such as YouTube
- services such as the BBC’s iPlayer.

Starting next year, our computers will be going offline for several minutes at a time. But
from 2012, however, PCs and laptops are likely to operate at a much reduced speed, rendering the internet an “unreliable toy”.

Well, why can't they just increase the bandwidth?

But they do sir.
In the U.S. telecoms companies are spending pounds 40 billion a year upgrading cables and supercomputers to increase capacity.

Personally, I feel the Internet monster YouTube and other video sharing websites are
eating away our bandwidth.

To validate that, here is a figure that says the amount of traffic gener
ated each month by YouTube is now equivalent to the amount of traffic generated across the entire internet in all of 2000.

The much less known monster that is also called “net bomb” Nemertes is BBC iPlayer, which allows viewers to watch high definition television (HDTV) on their computers.

Do you know the the amount of traffic that gets generated through net bomb? This figure is expressed in quintillion which is a million trillion bytes.

In layman terms that is easy to assimilate this figure, one exabyte is equivalent to 50,000 years’ worth of DVD-quality data. Monthly traffic across the Internet is running at about eight exabytes.

Cat corpses to fuel your vehicle?

Way back in 2005, a German created a flutter in the local community. That soon picked by more sound receivers and people carried the news to media.

A German newspaper’s interest was kindled and it reported that an inventor had developed a fuel system that could be powered by garbage, including deceased felines.

Internet didn’t lag behind the local newspaper. It picked up several threads and composed a report that revealed that to produce a full tank of fuel would require 20 cats to be killed. How cruel!

You must be aware of man called Dr. Christian Koch that invented a machine which can convert garbage such as paper, plastics and yard waste into bio fuel. But, even in his garbage, dead cats were not mentioned.

So, was this German news a phony one? It seems so. The whole dead-cat angle was apparently invented by a mischievous reporter.

Use Twitter to lure diners.

Yes, it is thus far the Twitter is being used by the offline business people too.

I appreciate the owner of a fast food outlet owner's ingenuity to tap the ubiquitous Twitter to lure prospective diners to his restaurant.

For the netizens, Twitter is the fastest vehicle to communicate.

Now, who created this world flutter?

It is Kogi, a Korean BBQ-inspired taco truck in California. It tapped Twitter to alert customers about the location of its mobile eateries around the Los Angeles area. And it has about 15K followers in Twitter.

Hmm.. Twitter, you are cute and surely create a flutter.
