Ride on the million dollar drive.

Seeing several Hollywood films during my student days, I often imagined myself as a sports car driver, sometimes a detective cop and at times an accomplice of James Bond 007!

That is an age when everyone would like to emulate what they see and admire outside. Among such things, I have fallen in love with those scenic roads in America. Driving along the ocean deep down in an open red colored car... hmm.. what a day dream!

There is a particular drive in the U.S. called 'The Million Dollar Drive'. It is a 75 mile stretch in the high ridges of Colorado.

Shermans Travels explains it more dramatically as follows:
"Breathtaking journey through the majestic mountain passes of western Colorado. Crossing part of the San Juan Skyway Scenic Byway, and following route U.S. 550 between the old mining towns of Silverton and Ouray, the route’s twists and turns wend high above the Red Mountain Pass – an 11,018-foot-high collapsed volcano whose lava flow was found to contain gold in 1860 – and past the deep Uncompahgre Gorge, into which flow several waterfalls."

Royal wedding ring replicated.

Would Kate Middleton want a change of her engagement ring? If I were her, I would have demanded in the wake of replica engagement ring manufactured in China and sold at just 45 cents!

I would also shield my new engagement ring from the press.

Prince William gave her a lovely sapphire ring surrounded by diamonds on his engagement day. The ring was originally worn by the late Princess Diana.

The replica of it is made of acrylic and metal alloys in China. The shrewd Chinese businessman named Zhou Mingwang expected a demand for a similar royal engagement ring and started manufacturing when he the image of the original ring in the Internet.

Search lights rotating at 370 degrees?

Youtube continue to amaze me. Yesterday, while I was enjoying a jungle tour that showed stunning videos of a lion hunt, I wondered what kind of lights were employed to shoot such a clear film in pitch-dark surroundings.

Just then, my eyes fell on an adjoining advertisement for remote controlled hunting lights. Hunting lights? Do you need hunting lights? In the wake of global ban on hunting wild animals, I thought the need for hunting lights has dried out.

Still, I clicked on the advertisement and landed on Magnalight.com, an exclusive online store for wide range of headlights, spotlights, explosion proof lights, camouflage lights, infra red lights and ….oh, the list is too big to mention them all.

Oh yes, coming back to hunting lights, I learnt that they are used in harbors, boats, big buildings for security purposes. The remote controlled hunting lights rotate automatically 370 degrees and tilt up and down too at 140 degrees. Yes, you have seen such lights in action films.

I could not understand the technicalities when I read the specifications. However, this short video clip explained the exact application for this remote controlled camouflage light.

How to test the effectiveness of your domain?

Selecting a new domain name for your online presence is a laborious process. It involves time consuming research and hair pulling sessions. When you have finally arrived at domain name, you may still be unsure whether you have chosen the proper domain name for your online business.

Are there ways to test the effectiveness of a domain?

If you want visitors(we all naturally do) for your blog, you should realize that the search engines should pop up your domain too in their search results constantly to send visitors. Your site is indexed by all the search engines based on the keywords found on the domain name and on the content.

In such circumstances of uncertainty, how will you test your domain name will evoke interest in the eyes of visitors? Is there way to get a refund of domain registration fee once you decide that your domain name is a hopeless one?

My way of domain testing:
I feed it to my mother-in-law who does not know my purpose of asking. If she asks me more about it, then, it is fairly well chosen by me.

Then, it is all up to me and the changing global trends that would decide the effectiveness of my domain name.
