Legal posthumous marriage in France.

This is truly amazing and unbelievable too. A girl appealed to the French President to allow her to marry her dead boy friend.

The compassionate President took no time in acceding to her plea. She is known as Karen Jumeaux. She married Anthony Mailot who died in an accident in the year 2009. They both gave birth to a baby in that year.

I appreciate the French President's unprecedented move. Had it been in India, none would take such a compassionate gesture citing unforeseen legal tangles.

I also feel sending a wedding gift to Karen. Does anyone know her digital footprint?

Indoor plant cum cooking grill!

What do you make out of this image? What is unusual about it to be featured in this blog that presents oddities of the world?

Can you believe this? It is an indoor plant cum cooking grill!

Take the top rind off the flower pot and you see the grilling gadget!

As Red Ferret right expressed, I am scratching my head wondering at this inconvenient way of grilling a steak and nurturing a flower plant from a single pot.

Human breast milk trade brisk in China.

Would you have believed had I said a few years before that mothers are selling their milk online?
No, obviously not.

What started in small way a couple of years ago has grown big now. Human breast milk is now available for sale online and there are woman buyers, mostly from China that was recently hit by milk scandals that affected thousands of infants.

Excess breast milk is sold in sachets of 100 ML for about $6. Do you wonder how mothers manage to pack breast milk in sachets, freeze it and transport it to local supermarkets?

Ah, that is a big story.

The most prescribed anti-depressant causing injury.

I assume you are familiar with product liability claims when a product causes serious and harmful side effects without warning on its label. In the aftermath of Topamax lawsuit, I came across Zoloft lawsuit that is sweeping the medico-legal world.

The most preferred anti-depressant among Americans is Zoloft that is known as Lustral. There were a whopping 29 million prescriptions were written for Zoloft in 2007.

Pregnant women who took Zoloft gave birth to children with congenital heart defects which require surgical correction. Of course not all women who took Zoloft were victims.

There was a publication by the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology which stated that fetuses exposed to Zoloft during early pregnancy face the risk of congenital heart defect.

O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath, personal injury attorneys have set up a website dealing with Zoloft lawsuit. You can gather more details from it.

Google goes deep into the ocean.

Google Earth reveals deep ocean floor which is supposed to larger than North America. If you care to dive deep into the ocean without actually getting wet, you can use your computer.

This fantastic scientific experience is made possible because of a colloboration between Google and oceanographers at Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.

Dive virtually and you can spot the following:
* Hudson Canyon off New York City,
* Lamont seamounts in the Pacific
* Three thousand meter high Mendocino Ridge off the US Pacific Coast

Even while reading this news in New Scientist, I am amazed at the possibility of more virtual exploration of the planet Earth.

Thank you Google!

Topamax prescribed to stop smoking?

This is weird! Topamax, the drug originally manufactured to treat seizures in adult and children was also prescribed to people who wanted to quit smoking!

No wonder Topamax manufactures are compelled to plead guilty in Topamax lawsuit filed several victims who were unfortunate to give birth to children with gruesome defects.

Even a layman can understand the issues related to Topamax in the website of O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath, the team specialist product liability claims attorneys. They can be contacted at O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949

What is Topamax, who it is prescribed for as per FDA approval, how the prescription is violated and what are all the harmful side effects of Topamax, what should the victims do, are neatly laid out in the website.

Take a look and be informed.

Phone instrument made of paper?

Very people in the world have heard of Wei, a Chinese designer of myriad things that are mostly innovative and never attempted before.

He recently designed a phone handset that he calls Origami Phone.

I read the article in Inventor Spot that gave me a few new insights.
* Inside phone handsets, there are only a handful of miniature electronic parts.
* Phone instruments can be made smaller and lighter.

Definitely, this Origami phone made of paper is not for people with hot temper-right?
