Wheelchair steered by tongue.

While some Indian doctors are busy getting themselves arrested, two engineers of India but working in U.K. and U.S. have jointly devised a wheel chair that can be steered by the quadriplegics using their tongue.

The inventors are Ravi Vaidyanathan and Lalit Gupta.

The wheel is moved with the help of a tiny microphone that points inside the ear where all noise is sealed off. When the quadriplegic moves his/her tongue, this forces air around the mouth to undergo pressure that provide a unique signature of the movement.

Previously, quadriplegic have to suck or blow into a straw or move a computer cursor to steer the wheelchair which considered as unhygienic.
